Mustang Sales Down 28% in September

On Tuesday Ford Motor Company reported that sales of the Ford Mustang were down 28.4% from sales reported during the same time last year. Last September, Ford sold 14,341 Mustangs. This September the company sold 10,266.

This downward trend was seen across the board for most of the vehicles in the Ford lineup. The only car to see an increase in sales was the Ford Fusion, which increased sales by 9.6 percent over last September. Ford's crossover vehicles, such as the Escape, also saw gains. Total September sales for all Ford vehicles were 189,863, down 21 percent compared with a year ago.

In all, Ford has sold approximately 109,803 Mustangs this year, 17.6 percent less than the 133,269 they had sold at this time last year.
