A Custom Mustang Is a Work In Progress

Tuesday March 18, 2008
Galpin Auto Sports ShowroomSeems every weekend I find myself thinking of new ways I can customize my Mustang. It's a work in progress that never ends. A reader recently commented that the new 5th Generation Mustangs are a lot like Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The aftermarket accessories are endless. And you know what? He's right. It's not just S197 Mustangs though, it's almost any Mustang from classic to late model. Parts and accessories are readily available. In the past three months since I purchased my 2008, I've already switched to JBA headers, added a JBA Catback Exhaust System with H-Pipe, and hooked it up to an SCT X3 Power Flash programmer for improved performance. Up next is a cold air intake, followed by a supercharger. Oh, and performance brakes. Can't forget those. Then after that it's time for....well, you get the idea. It never ends.

Below are a few of my favorite online parts & accessories dealers. If you're looking to modify your ride, give these guys a shot.

When you've made some progress, send me photos of your custom ride. We might just feature it here for all to see.

I agree. You can never do too much to a Mustang. It’s what makes it fun owning one.

No doubt Steve. I think I’ll be working on the cold air intake this weekend. Pictures to follow.
