Jonathan's Mustangs BlogRecall 08C02 Notice Has Arrived Like many of you, I recently received a letter from Dearborn with the words "SAFETY RECALL NOTICE" strategically placed above the address label. I'm referring to Recall 08C02. Ford first notified us of this potential safety issue in late February. In case you missed it, the recall involves deployment of the front-passenger airbag installed on 2005-2008 Mustangs. In all, Ford's notice says the time needed to correct this issue is less than one-half day. It also notes that, due to service scheduling requirements, the dealer may need my vehicle for a longer period of time. If you get one of these, you should definitely take the car in to be serviced. If you think your car is on the list, but you haven't received a notice, visit this site and click on the "RECALLS" tab to the left. Follow the instructions to see if your Mustang was included in this, or any other, recall.
As with any recall, the letter explains that the vehicle owner is responsible for having the repair performed. Although no injuries have been attributed to this recall, passenger safety is important.
