Jonathan's Mustangs BlogBarrett-Jackson Mustangs Go for Top Dollar in Palm Beach This just in from the 2008 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Palm Beach, Fla. The two KITT Knight Rider GT500KR Mustangs, Standard and Attack Mode (Lot 665/665.1), sold today for a winning bid of $300,000. The two cars sold as a pair. As an added extra, the winner was given the opportunity to purchase a 2009 GT500KR Mustang at list price, and not a dollar more.
Jack Roush was also in attendance as the last production 2008 ROUSH P-51A Mustang (Lot #667) rolled across the block. To make things even more worthwhile, Roush offered up his hat to the winning bidder. The car sold for a winning bid of $135,000. The proceeds from both the KITT Mustangs and the ROUSH Mustang went to the Salute to Education charity. Other Mustangs sold at the auction include a 1967 Fastback "Pit Viper #5" Mustang (Lot # 660.1), which went for $115,000, as well as a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang Fastback (Lot #649) which sold for $110,000. Another beauty that I particularly liked was a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang (Lot #659) with a lime gold exterior. The car had a winning bid of $190,000. The auction runs through this weekend.
