Ford Mustang Sales Down 19.7% In April 2008
Ford Motor Company has released its monthly sales figures for April. According to the report, sales of the Ford Mustang were down 19.7% when compared to April 2007 figures. This April Ford sold 10,050 Mustangs. In April of 2007, the company sold 12,509.
In related news, the Federal Reserve reduced interest rates Wednesday in response to low consumer spending. It appears as though many consumers have cut back on purchases, both large and small. Total Ford Motor Company sales across the board (including Jaguar, Land Rover, and Volvo) totaled 200,727 in April, down 12 percent. On the up side of things, Ford's new Focus posted an 88 percent increase in retail sales compared with a year ago; highest April sales for Focus since 2000.
Sales of the Ford Mustang were also down in March when the company sold 10,180 units of the popular pony car.
