The Mustang Wins 2008 Motorist Choice Award
Ford reports the 2008 Mustang has won a 2008 Motorist Choice Award for the Sporty Car segment. The award is given out based on cost of ownership data from IntelliChoice.com and vehicle owner satisfaction information from AutoPacific. Ford's pony car outranked the Volkswagon Eos, Hyundai Tiburon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and last year’s winner, the Scion tC.
George Peterson, president of AutoPacific said, "The Mustang is an outstanding value, and it satisfies owners from the six-cylinder buyer all the way up to the muscle car guy who’s driving a Shelby 500KR." He added, "That’s a combination that’s hard to beat."
I'm pretty skeptical about awards as some do nothing more than provide media attention to the company issuing the award while touting a happy company's ride. The Motorist Choice Award, however, is the real deal. Customer satisfaction is measured in 45 different areas using IntellChoice's proprietary Cost of Ownership data with AutoPacific's comprehensive new vehicle survey data. The result is an award to be proud of. Congrats Team Mustang.
