Mustang Road Trip: Day One
Well folks, the road trip has begun. Yesterday I left Los Angeles headed to the Mustang Club of America's 2008 Grand National in Park City, Utah. My ride for this trip is a 2008 V6 Mustang. With close to 720 miles to cover each way, I decided to take the pony car that gets the best gas mileage. In all, the 4.0L averaged about 21 mpg for the day.
The first stop along the way was Baker, Calif. This little town in the middle of the desert boasts the "World's Tallest Thermometer". It's also a place where I usually pay top dollar for gasoline. It was great to see gas has come down about .40 cents since my last trip through here.
A short time later I pulled into Las Vegas and decided to stop for the night. After all, there's so much to see here. Take Carroll Shelby's museum for instance. I plan to stop by this morning on my way out of town. In fact, I think I'll grab some breakfast at the Shelby Corner Café.
Next stop, Park City, Utah. Nothing but clear skies and 400 miles of highway ahead of me. Oh, and plenty of Mustang tunes on my stereo.
