Weekend Wrapup: Arizona Shelby Cobras Support Effort, Carroll Shelby at Upcoming Event, and John Force Racing

This past weekend it was reported that Arizona Shelby Cobras LLC, a Shelby Performance Parts dealer and official Cobra dealer, will feature their Cobras and Mustangs at the upcoming Men’s Luxury Toy Experience Oct. 24-26 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. The company will be selling t-shirts and accessories which will go to benefit the non-profit organization, Adopt-a-Platoon Soldier Support Effort, which is managed nationwide by a group of mothers with the goal of providing much needed goods and moral support to military troops and families in all branches.

In other news, Carroll Shelby has announced that he will attend the upcoming Team Shelby Texas Roundup sponsored by Quantum Performance. The event, which takes place October 25, 2008, will start at Farmers Branch, Tex. and will continue on to Mount Pleasant. This is the location of the school that Shelby recently partnered with in the creation of his new automotive educational program. “Northeast Texas Community College has put together a wonderful automotive technical program that gives young people the skills they need to be successful in the automobile industry,” said Mr. Shelby. “I encourage everyone to join me at the ribbon cutting ceremony to support a scholarship program that can really make a difference in the lives of those students.”

And in Mustang racing news Robert Hight, driver of the Auto Club of Southern California Ford Mustang, advanced to the second round of the NHRA Nationals while racing at the 3rd annual Virginia NHRA Nationals this weekend. Hight's John Force Racing teammate, Ashley Force, has also advanced.
