The Mustang Cobra Jet Is Back

Tuesday November 4, 2008
Folks, it feels like 1968 all over again because the Cobra Jet Mustang is back. Today I witnessed the launch of the new FR500CJ Mustang at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The FR500CJ is a race-only model that will be limited to a production run of 50. This 5.4L DOHC supercharged Mustang is said to produce 400 hp and weighs in at about 3,300 lbs. The cars, available through Ford dealers, will cost $69,900 MSRP. Other features include a Cobra Jet cold air kit, stainless steel long-tube racing headers, and a Cobra Jet seat package, among other goodies.
