This coming April I plan to drive from the Shelby Automobiles factory in Las Vegas, Nev. to Birmingham, Ala. My destination will be the Mustang Club of America’s 45th Mustang Anniversary Bash, and I won't be alone. According to an announcement made this week, I'll be joined by hundreds of other Mustang enthusiasts.
The five day journey, known as Mustangs Across America, will take us through the back roads and byways of America. This week, Sam Haymart, coordinator of the drive, announced more than 400 cars have registered to participate. Of note, the drivers will originate from almost every state in the Union, province of Canada, and nearly a dozen foreign countries. This includes close to 100 participants from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, The Netherlands, and the UK.
No doubt, this will be a ride of epic proportions. No really, possibly the stuff of Guinness Records. Haymart said, “We are in talks with the Guinness Records organization to see if this will qualify to set an official record”. Even if that does not come to pass, it will be a record for Mustangs Across America.
To learn more about how you can join us for the ride, check out the official Mustangs Across America Website. The event will be limited to 500 cars and event registration ends on March 15th.
