Last year it was announced that the popular Mustangs Across America drive, to coincide with the Mustang's 50th Anniversary, would not be taking place. This week event organizers announced the ride is back on.
In a press release, organizers said, "After much consideration, Mustangs Across America announces that a cross country driving event will take place in April of 2014 in celebration of the Mustang 50th Anniversary. An announcement will be made on February 1st, 2013 with details of the route and registration will open for the cross country diving event."
Sam Haymart, coordinator of the event, added, "The Mustang 50th Anniversary will be the largest celebration of Mustang enthusiasm in history. There is room for everyone's vision in this grand celebration, room for all Mustang enthusiasts to follow their own road maps to the big show of their choice."
The event was initially canceled due to the Mustang Club of America's plans to host two "official" 50th Anniversary Celebrations on both the East Coast and the West Coast. The format of past Mustangs Across America events has been to travel to one official destination. I'm very happy to hear they decided to bring it back. Now Mustang enthusiasts will have yet another option when it comes to celebrating the Mustang's 50th birthday.
