Move over Pandora, there's a new kid in town. On Monday Ford Motor Company announced that owners of Ford vehicles, such as late-model Ford Mustangs, will be able to connect to the music streaming service Spotify by integrating with Ford's SYNC AppLink system. This puts Ford out there as the first automotive manufacturer to offer Spotify's service to drivers.
"Spotify is a terrific addition to the SYNC AppLink ecosystem helping add even more value to the experience of driving a Ford for both new and existing customers," said Paul Mascarenas, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Motor Company, during the announcement of the collaboration at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
In order to connect to the service, drivers will first need to have SYNC AppLink software in their car. They'll also need to have downloaded the Spotify App, as well as have a Spotify Premium subscription. Read more.
