The new exhaust system features CORSA's exclusive Reflective Sound Cancellation (RSC) technology, which the company says gives GT500 owners an aggressive sound under acceleration, while providing a drone-free experience during cruise. This means the GT500 will sound aggressive when needed. A good feature for those who hate carrying on a conversation over an “always on” noisy exhaust. I reviewed CORSA’s 2011 exhaust lineup several years ago, and found this claim to be right on the mark. As I said at the time, “Most will be happy to know the exhaust did not drone on at idle. In fact, drone was non-existent with the windows up. That said, the system did come to life at the appropriate times.”
According to the company, CORSA plans to offer the new Mustang GT500 dual rear exit exhaust system with Twin Pro Series 4-inch tips in either Polished (part #14323) or custom Diamond Black finish (part #14323BLK). The exhaust tips are said to be manufactured from high-quality, 304L polished stainless steel, and feature double-wall construction. As a special touch, the exhaust tips are also laser etched with the CORSA logo. The Axle-Back system (part #14321) and XO-Style Crossover Pipe (part #14322) are also sold separately.
"We designed this new exhaust to unleash the power of the 2013 Mustang GT500," said Craig R. Kohrs, VP and General Manager, TMG Performance Products. "The combined Axle-Back system and XO-Style Crossover Pipe improve airflow to deliver impressive performance gains of 35 HP and 47 lb.-ft. of torque."
In all, CORSA says their exhaust systems are designed to provide several key benefits.
- Aggressive Performance Sound
- No Drone
- Improved Horsepower And Torque
- Potential For Better Fuel Economy
- Premium 304L Stainless Steel Construction
- Limited Lifetime Warranty
- 50 State Emissions Legal
- Handcrafted In The USA
The new CORSA GT500 exhaust system is crafted in the United States from premium stainless steel. The company says that complete installation hardware and instructions are included with the systems, which can be purchased direct from CORSA Performance, your local dealer, or through select retailers/distributors nationwide. In my experience with CORSA’s exhausts, install time generally takes between 30 minutes to an hour when installed by a professional shop.
The system comes with a limited lifetime warranty, designed to protect the exhaust system for as long as you own your vehicle.
In addition to the new GT500 exhaust system, CORSA makes systems for the V6, GT, and Boss 302 Mustangs. You can hear the CORSA Mustang GT500 exhaust system under throttle at the company’s YouTube page. Snap, crackle, and pop!
