Adding to the excitement, Saleen was on hand to unveil their new 2009 Saleen Dark Horse Mustang to the general public. The company’s new Executive Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, Mark Patrzik, said only 25 will be created. He added they will go for $90,000 each. The car boasts 620 hp and 600 lb.-ft. of torque courtesy of its supercharged 302 V8 engine. Patrzik told onlookers the car is the most powerful production Mustang ever made. Special guests Dan Gurney and Parnelli Jones were also in attendance to watch the unveiling. They later signed autographs for fans at the Saleen Booth.
Other special guests included Chad McQueen, the son of "Bullitt" star Steve McQueen. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the movie “Bullitt”, Chad set up shop in the 281 Motorsports booth where he signed autographs for fans. Later in the day he walked “Bullitt row” where he signed many of the Bullitt edition Mustangs in attendance.
Courtney Hansen of Spike TV's PowerBlock, FSN's Destination Wild!, & Former Host of TLC's Overhaulin' was also on hand at this year’s show. Other guests included Shelby Automobiles which featured several Shelby GT500 Mustangs, a Terlingua Mustang, and a Shelby GT500KR Mustang at their booth. ROUSH Performance Mustangs were also in attendance as were several SVOs and classic Shelbys.
Numerous prizes were awarded throughout the day as part of ongoing raffles. Vendors were on hand again this year selling popcorn, snow cones, hot dogs, and hamburgers.
In all, the 12th Annual Mustangs at the Queen Mary Car Show was one of the best ever. I walked and walked, never running out of sharp looking Mustangs to see. The show featured hundreds of Mustangs and hundreds of enthusiasts. What more can a Mustang fan ask for?
