Ford's One-of-a-Kind EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Pony

By

In the Summer of 2009, Ford Motor Company revealed a one-of-a-kind Mustang that was auctioned at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh show. Similar to the AV8R Mustang, which was auctioned in 2008, the AV-X10 Mustang brought in $250,000 when it was auctioned at the 2009 show.

AV-X stands for "Air Venture experimental", while the 10 signifies the model year. It also stands for 10 millionth, as this car features the 10 millionth 4.6-liter V-8 engine from the Romeo engine plant. Some other features include a glass roof, "Dearborn Doll" graphics, a Ford Racing supercharger which produces 550 hp, a performance handling package, Air Force star decklid badge, and GT500 wheels touting a liquid silver color with yellow propeller tips. The car is based on a 2010 Ford Mustang GT.
