Guide Review - Product Review: CORSA Performance Exhaust Extreme System for 2011 GT Mustang
I arrived at the world-famous Galpin Auto Sports showroom bright and early. Steve Carpenter, Galpin Auto Sports Manager, was kind enough to offer up his facility for the install. Our install vehicle was a 2011 Ford Mustang GT, complete with a 5.0L engine. After a brief overview of the system, we got down to work.
For starters, we completed the install on a lift. Although this is not a requirement, it definitely helped speed things along. Realizing most folks don’t have a lift at home, I recommend enlisting the help of a professional installer. Sure, you could do this on your own, but it will definitely take more time in the long run. That said, most of the work was completed by one person, although aligning the mufflers with the rear bumper required an additional hand. In all, the install process was completed in less than 30 minutes. I was impressed. The bolt-on design definitely won me over. We’re talking about no welding and no cutting.
After the install, it was time for a test drive. We lowered the GT and started her up. The exhaust note was definitely an improvement over the stock system. As we made our way down local streets, I could hear the exhaust kick into action when we put our foot to the floor. Most will be happy to know the exhaust did not drone on at idle. In fact, drone was non-existent with the windows up. That said, the system did come to life at the appropriate times.
Visually, the exhaust matched the 2011 Mustang nicely. The 4-inch Pro-Series tips look sharp. All-in-all, I walked away with many good thoughts regarding CORSA’s new system. It’s hard to improve upon something that’s already solid. Craig Kohrs and the folks at CORSA have managed to do this with their new exhaust system.
