Pricing

Although official pricing has not yet been released, we predict the V6 Mustang will be priced around $20,000, the GT at $25,000, and the Shelby GT500 around $41,000. The Shelby GT500KR will most likely be priced around $46,000.

Final Take

Overall, the 2008 Mustang is much like the 2007 model with a few additional features. The real highlight this year is the Shelby lineup. The GT500KR is sure to generate much attention from Mustang enthusiasts around the world.

A 2008 special-edition Mustang Bullitt will be an available offering as well. The 2008 Bullitt will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the 1968 GT 390 Mustang driven by Steve McQueen in the movie Bullitt.

All 2008 Mustangs will be built in Flat Rock, Mich., with final assembly of the Shelby GT and GT500KR taking place at the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas. A late-summer 2007 launch is expected for the Shelby GT, shortly before the traditional launch of the 2008 Mustang this Fall. The Shelby GT500KR is set to launch sometime in the Spring of 2008.
