Chris: Unlike other Mustang communities, MyMustangSite.Com is not based around forum software (Vbulletin). In fact, the site does have forums; however, it pales in comparison to the community features throughout the rest of the site. MyMustangSite.Com is created around the social networking aspect associated with sites such as Myspace. Users on MyMustangSite.Com can do just about anything you can on Myspace. [They can] add pictures to the gallery, post bulletins, create blogs, use "Myspace" layout codes, and more! As you can see, this is a very unique site compared to other Mustang communities.
About.Com Mustangs: What do you have lined up in the near future for the site? Any news you’d like to share?
Chris: Just looking to expand the features and popularity of the site. Currently teaming up with a few major Mustang meets & shows to gain more exposure. I am always running some sort of contest on the site where users typically win cash or gift certificates to sponsors of the site. I have done photo contests, referral contests, pick the Super bowl winner contest, Guess my current vehicle mileage contest, Best personal page layout contest, etc. As you can see, some of these contests have somewhat of a unique angle to them. I try to do things somewhat different than most Mustang sites to make it stand out a bit more from the crowd.
I am always looking for Mustang related companies who are interested in sponsoring the site. There are many great advertising opportunities to get a lot of targeted exposure for their site/products. Users of the site really appreciate interaction with the current sponsors in that they get questions answered about products, special deals offered by the sponsors, and an established trust between the buyer & seller. If anyone would like more info, they can contact me.
