Jack Roush, and the ROUSH Performance team, is back with a new ROUSH Mustang for the 2013 model year. The Stage 3 model, the most powerful of the 2013 ROUSH Mustangs, produces an impressive 565 horsepower and 505 lb-ft of torque thanks to its R2300 supercharger featuring Eaton's TVS (Twin Vortices Series).

The team at ROUSH says the supercharger delivers greatly enhanced thermal efficiency, produces higher volumetric capacity, and enables higher supercharger operating speeds, all of which allow for more power and better fuel efficiency in a smaller, lighter package. In addition, the car’s PCM was calibrated by ROUSH engineers.

Performance Goodies

The 2013 ROUSH Stage 3 Ford Mustang is loaded with plenty of performance goodies. In addition to its TVS 2.3L ROUSHcharger, the car can be equipped with one of four different brake packages (red two-piston sport, red four-piston performance, black four-piston performance or six-piston competition). It also sports a ROUSH dual chamber off-road exhaust system for plenty of ROUSH rumble out on the open road.

The Stage 3, which rides on 20-inch wheels (chrome or hyper black) and ROUSH/Cooper co-developed RS3 ultra high-performance tires, is equipped with a custom performance suspension system. We’re talking about a larger, stiffer front stabilizer bar to reduce body roll and provide balanced, neutral handling. The car also features a ROUSH designed anti-wheel hop kit, twin-tube shocks with unique valving, increased rate springs, as well as upgraded bushings and jounce bumpers. According to ROUSH Performance, its chassis engineers spent thousands of hours in development and testing to create the perfect set up to aid in acceleration, cornering, stopping and ride quality.

Beneath the hood, you’ll find a serialized Stage 3 plaque and a chassis build plaque.

Exterior Looks

ROUSH Mustangs are known not only for their power, but also for their looks. The 2013 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang is no exception. In keeping with tradition, the Mustang features the company’s 6th generation body package, referred to by ROUSH as the "R6" aerobody package. The R6 aerobody package incorporates a newly designed ROUSH upper grille, high-flow lower grille, corner fascia aero pockets with driving lamps and front chin splitter.

Other exterior goodies include rocker panel and rear fascia side splitters, a newly designed ROUSH hood scoop, a three-piece rear decklid spoiler as well a new ROUSH rear aero valance featuring race-inspired diffusers and integrating new dual chambered, chrome exhaust tips.

And then there’s the graphics package. No ROUSH Mustang is complete without one of these. The 2013 Stage 3 graphics package is fully customizable, and available in multiple color combinations to allow owners to personalize to their taste, a ROUSH front windshield banner, a Stage 3 badge in the upper grille and ROUSH "R" fender badges. For that extra added touch, the rear decklid receives a Stage 3 badge, a faux gas cap "R" badge and is finished with Jack Roush's signature graphic.

Creature Comforts Inside

From within the ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang, drivers will find a custom gauge cluster (when built on premium base models only), ROUSH embroidered floor mats, a ROUSH center console button, a Stage 3 dash medallion and Jack Roush's signature graphic on the dash. Even better, the all new Stage 3 Interior Package consisting of Stage 3 embroidered leather seating with suede inserts and highlight stitching, suede door panel inserts with highlight stitching and a suede shift boot with highlight stitching.

In addition, drivers can wrap their hands around a suede wrapped performance steering wheel, while checking out the car’s vent gauge pod and LED boost gauge. The Stage 3 returns once again with a white or black shifter ball, and is equipped with billet aluminum racing pedals.

An optional light bar is available for convertibles, and ROUSH illuminated sill plates are available on Mustangs with the ambient lighting option.
