Daddys little girl

I remember my dad bringing home the first Mustang Convertble off the line, I was about 2.. our home movies show me sitting up in the back of that baby blue car driving around and around the block, and waving. He only had the Mustang for the night, and got the Lincoln back the next day, but I remember how I felt in that car and I plan on having that blue 64 and a half Mustang Convertable one day ...soon I hope!

1967 Playboy Pink Fastback

I Purchased a 1967 playboy pink mustang fastback in 1990. It has 66k miles on it and has been sitting in my garage since. I recently started a remodle on my home and asked to store it at a friends. He was so excited about it's possible rarity that he's got me very curious. I am trying to find out anybody who can provide me with information regarding this car. I am interested in knowing how many were produced? How do I track down it's history? Should I restore it? Keep it? I would appreciate anybodies help. Ford Motor Company is researching the origional build sheet but I would like others input. Thanks and if you want picutes of it just let me know.

Mustang story

I was working for the local Ford dealer in 1965 when the dealer recieved their first Mustang. It was a 6 cylinder, standard transmission. After being on display for a few days a man came in and traded a very cherry 1955 T-Bird that he had purchased new for the Mustang. Today the T-Bird would be worth much more than the Mustang.

My Mustang

I was able to see the new Mustang the day before the actual introduction in April 1964. The dealer knew that I was seriously interested and just after 6pm took me back into the shop to see the one that would be on display the next day. I was told that two week delivery was available. The next day, we decided that we would buy a new Mustang - in part because they would be titled as 1965 models. If I didn't like the car, I would be driving a new model for a year and a half. That day we were told that delivery was now four weeks. The following day, we got prices from several dealers and were told that delivery was now six weeks. The next day, we placed our order for our convertible and were told that delivery was now eight weeks. It was delivered to us late on the 55th day after we ordered it. Mine was rare from the start - 170 ci six convertible with 14" wheels and a four speed. I drove it for nine years and then bought an Olds F-85 station wagon - BIG mistake.

64 Convertable

I was just a child, Uncle Billy was a sales man for Adamson Ford - Mustang Debut - Baby Blue Convertable/ White Top and Interior. I was sitting on the back on top of the back seat and when we started off from a traffic light, well I just rolled right off the back. I've always loved the earlier Mustangs and have become fond of the newer models too.

Pony up

The first Mustang I saw in the steel was in the BX parking lot somewhere in France or Germany in 1964. I don't remmeber for sure but I remember that Mustang Coupe! I said, "I'm gonna have one of those!" When i got back to the states in 1965 I bought one of the first Mustang GTs. Shortly after, my company sent me to Japan and R.P. for six months and then offered me a position at Clark AB. I took the 'tang home to Okla. and left it with my folks. When I found I wasn't going to be living in the states anytime soon I sold the deep red beauty to my dad. He drove it until he died in 1976. So my Mustang story was way to short, but it is still my favourite!

Summer of Fun

In the summer of '77, my mother bought a custom '69 Mustang Mach I for me for an early birthday gift. She paid $2200.00 for it. Here's a pic of the car: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/vtel57/My%20Pics/69Mach1.jpg It had a stock 351ci Windsor engine, but it was still pretty peppy; nothing like the 429 Super Cobra Jet, though. I drove the heck out of that car for the next 18 months, all the while working on restoring my real "dream car" that I had purchased with money from a sheet metal shop job that I had at the time. Here's a pic of my other car: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/vtel57/My%20Pics/MyHeavyChevy78.jpg A 1957 Chevy 2dr HT Belair I had a lot of fun in that Mach I, though. I ended up selling it to some 15 year old kid for $1800. He got his operators license and totaled the car just a few weeks later. Ah... the memories. :) ~Eric Tampa, Florida, USA

It brought me a wonderful wife, children, grandkids, a lifetime of friends, memories and more fun than anyone can imagine. Yes, Mustang is a way of life and a lifestyle.……Mustang makes it happen!

My Story

The first thing that comes to mind is the 1968 Mustang jingle in the TV commercials that said, ….”Only Mustang….. makes it happen”. That sums up my (our) life with Mustangs. I bought a new Mustang in late ’65 at Holmes Tuttle Ford and became a member of the Southern Arizona Mustang Club that day. I’ve had a Mustang and been in the club ever since, working and planning club activities. At the dealership, I noticed a cute girl working there and she too had a Mustang. That was the beginning of a wonderful life. Mustang ….. made it happen. As a result, my son and daughter were born. My son got a job at the dealership in Parts (now Parts Manager) and met a pretty girl who was restoring her Mustang. Yes, they got married and now they have a beautiful girl, our next Mustanger. Mustang…… made it happen. My daughter, while in high school, met a boy who was a Camaro guy. She had a Mustang GT. They too got married and now he is a Mustanger and a Service Manager at a Ford dealership

My First Mustang was a 1965 2+2

I bought my 1965 Mustang in 1968. The previous owner was going to Vietnam and needed the cash. It had a 225HP 289 engine with a four speed transmission. The color was Highland Green. The back seat could fold down so I could take all of my belongings to school at Wake Forest U. I wanted to make it look special, so I removed the hubcaps, painted the wheels a dull black paint, and got a new set of redline Firestone tires. I also removed the Mustang grill from the front, and this was before the Bullitt movie! I installed a Sun Tach and replaced the Ford quad with a Holley Carb. This did make the car go pretty fast, I must say! I used the car all during my school days. This included the trips from my home in South Bend, IN to Winston-Salem, NC. It never failed me. However, I failed the car one Spring Break in Daytona Beach, FL. After a night of reading books at the Daytona library, I forgot to retrieve my car from the surf that encased the car overnight. End of story!

My first glimpse...my first Stang.

In 1964 every pre-teen boy in North America was either talking about the upcoming Mustang or the Beatles...in that order. It tooksome serious negotiating but my older brother and I finally talked our dad into driving from Buffalo to the New York City and the World's Fair to check out the first Mustang. Of course we never told him that was our purpose, but I'm pretty sure he knew and wanted to see it too. When we got there she sat in the shadow of the Unisphere, glistening in her gold metallic glory. I had to catch my breath! To this lad of 12 it was as inspiring as a beautiful nude to Reubens (the classic artist). I thought of nothing else, work hard on side jobs and by 18 I was ready to buy a 1969 Mach 1, 428 Cobra Jet in 1970. When the deal was made ($3697.00 out the door), nothing in my life has ever matched the thrill of when I turned that key and all 335 horses came roaring to life. The whole dealership stopped and watched as I nervously put her in gear and drove away. Wow!!!
