What Would You Do to Build A Better Mustang?
The 2010 Mustang will debut at the L.A. Auto Show in a little more than 90 days. As such, speculation surrounding what it will look like and how it will be different has the entire Mustang community talking. Some say it will sport a new 5.0L engine. Others speculate Ford will offer a 4-cylinder engine or a fuel-efficient V6. One thing is certain. Whatever the differences, the car will still be a Mustang.
Looking back, it's easy to trace the progression of the Mustang over the years. After all, so many Mustangs of different generations share the road with us everyday. From the muscle car classics to the fuel efficient Mustang II, through to the Fox bodies, the SN-95s, the New Edge, and the S197, each Mustang was different and each Mustang had a story to tell.
With the 2010 Mustang soon to be unveiled, what things would you like to see in the new car and what things would you like to see go away? For instance, I'd like to see a better built interior with less hard plastic, but keep the retro textures and shapes. And definitely keep the retro-styled air vents. Quite a few folks have told me they hate how difficult it is to get into and out of the back seat. Can you imagine a Mustang with plenty of rear seat room? Or what about the live-rear axle? Should it stay or should it go? What would you do to build a better Mustang?

How about a Mustang with a cup holder that doesn’t get in the way when you’re shifting?
Get rid of the live-rear axle. Yea, it’s good for the drag strip, but how many people are going to take theirs down there on the weekend?
Mostly love our own S197 Mustang! But wish they could tighten and quite up some of those clunky drivetrain and two piece drive shaft sounds when shifting the forward gears!! P.S. Dan: Just pull out the console’s rear cup holder plug and your problem is solved Sir!!
