Interior Design
The interior of the Giugiaro Mustang Concept is as custom as its exterior design. For starters, passengers sit on seat cushions and backrests upholstered in dark brown mottled horse hide. Dark brown horsehide-covered headrests complete the seats, which feature horse logo accents up top. The car also boasts an instrument panel that extends the entire width of the car as well as circular gauges that project from behind the steering wheel.
Performance
Fabrizio got some help from the folks at Ford Racing technologies. The end result a Mustang with plenty of power and road grip. Ford took a 4.6L V8 engine, featured in the production GT Mustang, and added an intercooled twin-screw supercharger. They also added fuel injectors from the Ford GT, complete with an engine air intake featuring a larger 95 mm mass air meter and a conical air filter. The car also sports Ford Racing mufflers and an X-pipe, designed to make the car breathe better. All of this helps the Giugiaro Mustang Concept achieve an impressive 500 hp.As for its suspension, the Mustang features FR500C-inspired chassis tuning, compliments of a Ford Racing Handling Package (Dynamic-tuned dampers, lowering springs, anti-sway bars). The end result is a car which is 1.5 inches lower to the ground than the GT Mustang.
In all, some might say the Giugiaro Mustang is the fifth generation Mustang’s Bertone pony car. As one generation of designers passes the torch to another, it’s good to see some things never change. A concept Mustang is sure to turn heads and create a world of conversation. The Giugiaro Mustang is no exception.
